Chipper Blade Tips
  • Use knives of correct steel composition and hardness.
  • Maintain proper cutting angle and sharpening techniques.
  • Practice frequent knife changes.
  • Maintain proper anvil clearance.
  • Use matched blade sets.
  • Do not use knives that are too narrow.
  • Keep anvil and knife bolts tight.
  • Be sure pockets and holders are clean when changing knives.
  • Protect the cutting edge of knives when they aren't in the chipper.
