Chipper Blade Tips

  1. Use knives of correct steel composition and hardness.
  2. Maintain proper cutting angle and sharpening techniques.
  3. Practice frequent knife changes.
  4. Maintain proper anvil clearance.
  5. Use matched blade sets.
  6. Do not use knives that are too narrow.
  7. Keep anvil and knife bolts tight.
  8. Be sure pockets and holders are clean when changing knives.
  9. Protect the cutting edge of knives when they aren't in the chipper.
