How Much Horsepower do I Need?

For whatever you're doing, you want to invest in a machine whose power is slightly more than youre requirements for the job. When you've got a plowing job that requires a machine of 45 horsepower, you dont want to look for a machine with exactly 45 horsepower - the machine will be straining as hard as it can all the time to get the job done, and that's no good.

For serious farming, you should really only consider tractors that have 50 horsepower or more.
